The weather report for sat 2-28

If it’s Not the Biblical apocalypse then it is the secular one… though, personally… I think it is Biblical.

The vibe today is tension. A fear of naming what is going on. A fear of discussing what is happening and the repercussions of those cultural tensions.

I would be lying if I said I understood it. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t struggling but still we continue. Still we try fina a voice of our own in a destiny out of our hands.

The die is cast rule: a simple rule for rpgs I came up with years ago. Where at the beginning of a session you take a deck of cards and deal all the player characters one. If they get knocked out of the game you flip the card over and if it is black your character is dead if it’s read they are only wounded (I know it is the it is the die is cast rule and uses cards but the original idea of using a dice and having a saving throw down a cup and then revealing a roll at the beginning of the game and reveal when you die was far to melodramatic and pretensions and would way take up way to much vital table space… so it is cards).

Any way at the beginning of every session you draw a card for your player character before each grim metal bedlam skirmish combat. The PC (captain/squad leader/player character) does not roll a saving throw when he is knocked out he just flips over the card and sees what was dealt to him. If he lived (gets a red card) your guys successfuly retreat from the battle field but any one else who is wounded on the table stays dead. Any items you didn’t collect from your wounded crew are lost.

Anyways after that tangent of head canon game design crap… what I am getting at is that there are choices we make that define the results of futer choices. Today it feels like the hand of humanity is hovering over a card on the table. And we don’t know yet if it is red or black.

Peace and love.

Be safe out there friends.
