Anunnaki chapter 3

1

The feline-Esque humanoids that will henceforth be referred to as the imps lived in the industrial caverns that were the sewage systems of the "big guys upstairs." They lived literally in the shit of there gods. They would pray to the great ones of value (the big guys upstairs were wealthy). They were locked away in a world of stench breeding for those that hated them—breeding for a world that was beyond there comprehension.
The imps had black fur and were female; the big guys upstairs had white hair and were male. This characteristic was the only difference between a good life in the garden or one of the perils, the stench of the dung heap. Each raised the children that were like them, teaching them to hate the ones that were not.
The imps had shepherds wise women of strength. That had gutted themselves of there reproductive organs. Swearing an oath that they would protect their sisters from the men who claimed them as property. The shepherd's arms were cut off and replaced with a self-aware sword that protected them from the 'big guys upstairs.'
The big guys upstairs had the dust walkers who could become smoke even to the sentient blades of the shepherds. Being a spirit as long as they were not carrying away the imps, they felt compelled to enslave. This hellish game of hiding and seek, survival, and terror in the sewers of the garden of one more exhibition in the zoo, is the place of arrival for Sam and Teki.

Earthquake was thirteen and viciously jerking off. He had acquired the strange belief that if he played with his penis so hard that afterward, it was swollen. Then in his mind, there was a slim hope that it may permanently gain an inch or two. It was a 'great waste.' as his father said, so they had taken the lock off his door to discourage it and removed the curtains from the windows to shame him into playing ball. His father's property that gave birth to him told him he had reached an age where he should have an imp of his own. But the boy was only confused more when his father left him at one of an empty one's houses (one of the imps whose owner had died and used as a right of passage for boys who had come of age).
He had tried his best to please her but found that she would close her eyes and wait for him to leave. So the young one had got a complex that maybe if his penis were not so small. He would have satisfied her.
So he swore off of imps till he had found a way (in his demented mind) to make them happy. Earthquake pushed his back against the door and pounded away with his fist until he got a look so disappointed from his father's property that had given birth to him that he ran with her eyes following his naked body. As he fumbled for his pants, pulling them up. The red and orange square patterns of his neon Aladin pants standing out against his white fur. He heard a knock on his window. He runs towards it, saying, "I am so sorry, don't tell father." His hands raised in surrender. She just shook her head and walked off.
When the switch came down on his armpit, he would flinch. Red staining his fur. The blood on the switch and his coat.

His father said, "don't do it again, or it will get worse."

Earthquake nodded and said, "yes, sir."

Dead, was a sweet little imp. Just coming of age, she had been sent out to fend for herself in the tunnels. Without the protection of the shepherds (the right hand of God), she would now have to live in fear of the dust walkers (the left hand of God). It was their nature to say goodbye to the lost members of there flock. She hugged each of the older women's armless bodies and said the goodbyes that were expected of her.
You couldn't get used to the smell. So as parting gifts from the flock, you were given a gas mask, and the tunnels have no light, so you were given a flashlight that you would wind up to give it charge.
Dead was terrified of the dust walkers and wished she could say the prayer that started, "please spare me indignity till I am of age." because that time had passed. She was a woman in the eyes of the flock and hated everyone for the world she was born into. She would kill and eat one of the giant cockroaches that dwelled in the sewer and eat its soft guts happy for one more day of freedom.
"I don't want to be the mother of monsters." Said dead

Then the fear came from the sound of splashes in the distance. Of two groups of feet from unknown monsters marching towards her in the blackness of the sewers.

And she heard a voice say, "This is the most disgusting bullshit I have ever been involved with."

and another one more a baritone answer-back, "it ain't that bad."

she moved in the darkness a splash in the sewage, and the voice of the baritone finally said: "I think we have found a native."

Dead ran. The pitter-patter of splashing through sewage echoed throughout the tunnels to the ears of a nearby dust walker like a fisherman casting nets and winding the battery of her flashlight in the flickering sparks of when it worked. She saw his white coat and rubber slacks as he chased towards her. Turning around and now running towards the couple who had scared her to begin. She could see a green, dense fur running towards her with an imp beside it.

Dead screaming, "turn around, Dust walkers!" as the couple flashed in and out of view with the cranking of the nearly dead battery.

Sam could see in the receding flashes of light what appeared to be ghosts running towards her. She is turning and running after the light as Teki, whispers, "Royally fuck me with a chocolate bannana." then he turns and follows after his protector.

"do you think you should use the world trigger?" said Teki

"Will it work against spirits" Sam answered.

With a blank sarcasm by flashes of light, he said, "Honestly, why wouldn't it?"

"I don't know, maybe cause they are ethereal fucking beings," said Sam.

"Your suit is imbued with all of my power; I am a divine tourist. It is made of spirit so, yeah, use the damn world trigger," said Teki

"Okay, okay, Anunnaki," said Sam.

The dust walkers were surrounding it. Her eyes glowed green, and she could see them. The fifth and final one arriving just as the first one leaped at her with its claws. She punched it in the face, his head exploding through the pipe at its eye level. The other four looked around at one another before running in different directions. She grabbed one by the tail and stomped on it till it lay still facedown in sewage. Then started after the two that ran down the side that Teki and the little creature with the flashlight had started down.
When she caught up, Teki was bleeding all over his fur, and one of the dust walkers ran with the gas mask-wearing little furry creature over his shoulder.
Dead swung violently while she was being carried off. Running with incredible speed and catching up pretty quickly, Sam punched the dust walker, and it went flying like a missile down the tunnel, hitting the girl with the gas mask free. Though now unconscious.
Sam had the world trigger still, so she knew Teki wasn't dead.

Running towards him, she heard him scream, "Save the little gas mask one. You can kill the other two." So that is what she did with two stubborn stomps that left dents in the pipe (though the last of them was at least brave, attacking her while she finished the last one she had hit).
Teki held his wound with flinching as his only expression of gratitude to Sam.
"I need you to heal me," said Teki.
"Tell me what to do," said Sam.
"Just come here and turn around," Teki whispered.
So that is what she did. his heavy breathing, and quiet vocal expressions of pain. Such as "shit." and "damn." The only sound, but his feet were slinging sewage as he walked to Sam to press the button.
"are you going to be okay?" said Sam.
"I am fine and will do my best to continue to remain as such," said Teki.
Then gas releasing as the wings spread on her back, he reached inside and pulling a lever like a haunting in a ghostbusters trap. There was a blasting scream that echoed through the tunnels. Sam is standing as an imp in the sewage, looking around to see where Teki had gone. Instead found a backpack that was like a golden egg with an LCD screen that reads "Quarantine for six more hours."
To know in particular, she said "fuck,"
She picked up the backpack from the sewage, disgusted; she put her arms through the straps. And Sam walked towards the little black creature whose fur was soiled with the waste of the tunnels. She shook her gently, then removing the gas mask from the little things face. She put it on herself. Then picking up the little creature that was a two thirds her size in both arms. Sam marching towards wherever was to be their room for the night.

The hours passed slowly as Sam with only the reassurance that he (Teki) would be fine as a comfort. Sitting in the dark of some little sphere she had found with the only entrance or exit being a ladder she had bumped into not far from where she had picked up the little creature and backpack.
The ladder had been a beast to conquer; Sam had thought of climbing up and leaving the backpack before carrying the little creature on a second trip. But Sam decided to ground her teeth and take both of them up at the same time. She was almost falling every other step using one hand to carry the child and the other to grab a rung. Her shoeless feet took from the sewage level to the warm incubator that she decided would be their camp.
Her mid was all about murder and guilt "I almost need two hands to count the people I have killed in the last week." she was thinking.
The dark was a comfort, but she found even though she had not eaten anything since yesterday that the heaving-gagging and resistance to vomiting did not help. She felt with her hands till she traced a path to the hole she had ascended (dry heaving and gagging all the while.) holding on to the edge the ladder lead to she started throwing up.
When Sam was lying still her back to the wall, she is just starting to cry, thinking of the preacher and how his family must feel when a voice comes from the darkness saying, "you're not from here."
"How do you know," said Sam wiping away a tear.
"Just can tell, if someone could kill those creeps and chose not to for all these years. Then I would lose faith. So I decided to believe that you were not from around the here." Said Dead.
Introductions were exchanged as the darkness swallowed them into the ambiguous embrace of not knowing. The dark reveals character. With certainty, Sam knew she had made the correct decision to come with the tourist to this alien world. That things would be fine, the guilt was a reassurance that the power hadn't corrupted her so much as it was forcing her to evolve. Thas she was one of a god's bodyguards, and the lives she had taken (she was certain) had gone on to a more damning judgment then what she was capable of or could understand. Though and maybe it was just the dark talking to her in riddles, but she felt one day she would see the preacher again.
